Samosa puff is an easy to make snack/ appetizer with a flaky texture on the outside and savory filling on the inside. It is perfect for any occasion like office potluck, weekend parties or picnics or even a game night. These tasty pinwheels can be made in a variety of flavors to suit everyone’s taste buds. You can also try the vegetarian version of this recipe by making them with paneer tikka, spinach and artichokes or a cheesy mix. For non-vegetarians, you can try it with scrambled eggs or meat of your choice.
To prepare samosa puff, firstly mix wheat flour, milk and castor oil (add water if required) well until you get a soft dough. Cover it with a wet muslin cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, steam the potatoes and mash them properly. Heat a pan, add oil, once it is hot, add cumin seeds and let it splutter. Then add roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and dry coriander powder along with some asafoetida and saute for 2-3 minutes. Finally, add mashed potatoes and rock salt and mix well. The potato stuffing for samosa puff is now ready.
Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheets and spread the cooled samosa mixture evenly on one of the corners of each sheet. Gently fold the opposite side of the sheet over the potato mixture and crimp edges using your finger or a fork. Brush the tops with egg wash and bake them in an oven for about 18 minutes until they are deep golden brown. Serve them with tomato ketchup and green coriander mint chutney and enjoy! سمبوسة بف
